José María Larrú Ramos

Dr. in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad San Pablo-CEU and graduate in Moral Theology from Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Since 1996, he has taught subjects related to development economics at CEU and since 2015, Social Doctrine of the Church in the School of Economics and Business. His lines of research are integral human development, poverty and inequalities and the effectiveness of development cooperation.

Mercedes Daubarede Nuñez-Iglesias

Collaborating Professor, graduated in Architecture from the Madrid School of Architecture and holder of a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the University of Murcia. She is currently developing her doctoral research in the Humanities for the Contemporary World program on the motivations of women who resort to abortion.

David Santos Mejía

Dr. in Telecommunications Engineering and Professor of Signal Theory and Communications at USP-CEU. In relation to the activities of the IHAA, he is especially interested in teaching the Social Doctrine of the Church at the university level, with special attention to students trained in scientific-technical disciplines.

Ana Sánchez-Sierra Sánchez

Dr. in Humanities and Degree in Political Science from Universidad Complutense of Madrid. Professor of Moral Philosophy at Universidad CEU-San Pablo. Her thesis on the thought of Luis Díez del Corral was awarded the Ángel Herrera prize for the best research in the area of humanities and social sciences in its XXI edition.

Jesús Francisco Cogollos García

Dr. in Political Science and Administration from USP-CEU. and graduate in Law from UCM. His lines of research are social Catholicism in 20th century Spain and the History of the Catholic Church in Spain during the contemporary period (19th and 20th centuries). Since 2015, he teaches Social Doctrine of the Church and Keys to Contemporary History at the Schools of Economics, Law, and Humanities and Communication Sciences.

Lourdes García Ureña

Professor of the Department of the School of Humanities and Communication Sciences of USPCEU. She holds a degree in Classical Philology, a PhD in Theology (Pontificia Università della Santa Croce, Rome) and a PhD in Classical Philology from the University of Cordoba. She has done research stays at the Universities of Harvard, Yale, École Biblique de Jerusalem (EBAF) and Oxford, among others. Her research interests focus on the Apocalypse and the language of color in the Bible.

Carmen Fernández de la Cigoña

Graduated in Law from Universidad Complutense of Madrid, where she obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Law School. She currently combines the position of Secretary General of the ACdP with that of director of the CEU Institute for Family Studies. Finally, she is a professor at USP-CEU teaching classes on the Social Doctrine of the Church.

Beatriz Bullón de Mendoza y Gómez de Valugera 

Doctor in Law from USP-CEU and Civil Degree in Religious Sciences (recognition of studies at the San Dámaso Ecclesiastical University). She develops her research in Nobiliary Law, which was the subject of her doctoral thesis, and in the areas of Morality, Social Doctrine of the Church, Social History, Education and Women. Coordinator of the University Diploma of Expert in SDC offered by the CEU Angel Ayala Institute of Humanities.

Sirga de la Pisa Carrión

PhD in Art History from UCM. Assistant Professor of Art History in the Modern Age. She develops her research especially in Flemish Painting of the seventeenth century, specifically in the monograph with catalog raisonné of the painter Peter van Lint (Antwerp, 1609-1690) made as a doctoral thesis.  Christian Iconography in the History of Art.  Participates in the Research Project Art and Liturgy of Universidad CEU San Pablo.

Rafael del Río Villegas

Doctor specialized in Clinical Neurophysiology for the approach of neuromuscular, movement or sleep disorders. In addition, he currently has a special commitment to the Illustrious College of Physicians of Madrid, where he chairs the Ethics Committee. He combines his healthcare and research activities with a long undergraduate and postgraduate teaching career at various universities, particularly UAM, URJC and USP-CEU. At the Institute, he teaches in areas such as Bioethics and SDC.

Lucía Vallejo Rodríguez

Graduate in philosophy from UCM and official master's degree in bioethics from URJC. She has been a research assistant at the CEU Institute for Family Studies. She is a researcher of the pre-competitive group INVESTFAM and the CEU identity lines project: family and life. She has done research stays at Hillsdale College, Michigan and at The Russell Kirk Center, Mecosta. She is currently the coordinator of the Course in Leadership, Politics and Good Governance for Undergraduates at the CEU-CEFAS Center for Studies, Training and Social Analysis. She is a collaborating professor of Social Doctrine of the Church at USP-CEU.

Mª Helena Sánchez Gómez

Graduate and Doctor in State Ecclesiastical Law from UCM. Graduate in Religious Sciences and Master’s degree in Health Law and Bioethics. Her research focuses on the fundamental right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion in the field of the Council of Europe and studies on the dignity and protection of life and human rights. Collaborating Professor USP-CEU, she teaches subjects such as Social Doctrine of the Church, Ethics and Deontology, and the Man and the Modern World.

Licenciada en Periodismo y máster en Comunicación política y corporativa por la Universidad de Navarra. Bachillerato en Teología en la Pontificia Universidad de la Santa Cruz, en Roma. Diplomada en Doctrina Social de la Iglesia en la Universidad CEU San Pablo, con el trabajo final "Principios generales de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia. Una propuesta didáctica para público universitario". Ha colaborado como redactora en la revista Aceprensa. Profesora colaboradora de la asignatura de Doctrina Social de la Iglesia, impartida en inglés.

He develops his research in Anthropology, Ethics, Philosophy of Education, and contemporary Spanish philosophy, specifically the Spanish medical Humanism. Pablo Sánchez Garrido

Professor of Philosophy, PhD from UCM. He has made several research stays in foreign centers, such as the University of Austin (USA), Trinity College, University of Cambridge, or the University of Coimbra. He has been General Secretary of the Higher Center for Humanistic-Social Research of the CEU Angel Ayala Institute of Humanities. He is currently the director of the CEU Center for Spanish Cultural Heritage.

Teresa Díaz Tártalo

She is a collaborating professor with a PhD in Humanities. She develops her research in the area of Anthropology and Social Psychology focusing especially in the area of child and family protection, with special dedication to the field of lack of protection due to risk of social exclusion, anthropological vulnerability, the importance of attachment and belonging and its relationship with the field of foster care and the problems of complex and dysfunctional families.

Graduate in Geography and History. PhD Candidate in Humanities for the Contemporary World. She teaches the subject "Keys to Contemporary History". She develops her research work on the First Carlist War in the Morning Post (1833-1840) within the research project of USP-CEU, "The origin of the war correspondents: a forgotten consequence of the internationalization of the First Carlist War".

Antonio Alonso Marcos

Dr. in Political Science from UCM. He has developed his research on the post-Soviet space, especially Central Asia, and on jihadism and Islamism. He has worked to develop relations with Central Asian universities. He regularly participates in research and dissemination activities at CESEDEN and IEEE, both of the Spanish Ministry of Defense. Juan Galbis de la Mora

Dr. in Humanities from Universidad CEU San Pablo, he is a professor of History at the Ángel Ayala Institute of Humanities and at the School of Humanities and Communication Sciences. A member of the Madrid Bar Association, he carries out his research on the Monarchy in the constituent process of 1977-1978, as well as on other aspects related to the Spanish political transition to democracy and Franco's regime.

Hipólito Sanchiz Álvarez de Toledo

Dr. in Ancient History from UCM. His main line of research lies in the Ancient Middle East, especially in Mesopotamia, a subject on which he wrote his doctoral thesis Historical and mythical testimonies of the city of Shuruppak, being his approach fully interdisciplinary: from the point of view of History, Philology, thanks to his knowledge of Sumerian, Akkadian, Pharaonic Egyptian and Archaeology.

Javier Real Rodríguez

He is a professor of History and Social Doctrine of the Church, work that he combines with teaching in secondary education. He has a degree in History, Theology and Canon Law, and a Master's degree in Hispanic Medieval Studies, and has developed his research work in the historiography of these disciplines.  He currently focuses his research in the field of the Social Doctrine of the Church.

José María Mira de Orduña Gil

Dr. in Law, he wrote his thesis on the Catholic school, analyzed from the perspective of the right to religious freedom.  He has participated in several research projects on the protection of marriage and the family. In this line, he has done research on human dignity, education, Church-State relations. He is a professor of History of Law, Society, Family and School and Social Doctrine of the Church at UCH-CEU, where he is the Director of the Center located on the Campus of Castellón.

Professor at Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera CEU in Elche, where he has taught subjects such as anthropology of education; history of science; general history, science and society, religion, culture and values or the Church, sacraments, and morals. Juan Carlos Valderrama Abenza

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from UNav, where he also received his PhD with a thesis (with a FPU scholarship) dedicated to the political philosophy of Julien Freund (1921-1993). Since 2003, he is part of the faculty of the UCH-CEU, where he is a full professor and has coordinated subjects such as History of Thought and Social and Political Movements. Principal researcher of the interdisciplinary group attached to the UCH "Religion, Society and Politics" (G-ReSP) and projects that have resulted in numerous publications.

Higinio Marín Pedreño

Dr. in Philosophy. Associate Professor of Philosophy of Man and Culture. He has developed his work on the historical-cultural formulas of the articulation between the genealogical and individual dimensions of the human subject, and the prefigurations of the fields of meaning and reality that these syntheses establish, opening modalities of existence and presence in the world. Appointed Rector of UCH-CEU in 2023.

Rafael Fayos Febrer

Graduate and Doctor in Philosophy from the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome with the thesis entitled "Truth and realism in the work of Karl Raimund Popper". Master’s degree in Bioethics from the Catholic University of Valencia. He is currently Professor of Anthropology at Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera and Main Researcher of the research group Person and Education at the same university.

Enrique Anrubia Aparici

Dr. in Anthropology. He is a Full Professor of Philosophical Anthropology at UCH CEU in Valencia. He has been visiting scholar at Boston University and the University of Porto, and visiting fellow at the University of Notre Dame. His academic research focuses on the anthropology and philosophy of pain. Author of several books and numerous research articles, he is the winner of the Angel Herrera Award for Best Research in Humanities and Social Sciences.

Isidro Rodríguez Marugán

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences from UCM and a PhD in Philosophy from UV. His research work and associated publications have focused on the field of personalism and anthropology. He stands out for his work in debate preparation, teaching oratory and dialectics. He participated in the Master’s degree of Secondary Teacher Training at UCH. His previous professional experience was in the pre-university educational world. He currently teaches SDC and Anthropology.

Guillermo Peris Bautista

PhD in Humanities (philosophy line) by UCH-CEU with a thesis on the philosophical understanding of myth in J.R.R. Tolkien in dialogue with ancient philosophy. He has been general secretary and professor of ancient philosophy at the Edith Stein Institute of Philosophy, Granada, and has published studies on J.R.R. Tolkien, North American literature, and Plato's philosophy in specialized journals. He is currently professor of Philosophical Anthropology at UCH-CEU.

Juan Manuel Monfort Prades

Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Cultural Anthropology and Ecclesiastical Sciences. Dr. from UNED with a thesis on the Philosophy of Culture in Ortega y Gasset. His main line of research is developed around contemporary Spanish thought. He teaches in Castellón at the school "Mater Dei" and as an associate professor at UCH-CEU.

Emilio Callado Estela

Professor of Modern History at Universidad CEU-Cardenal Herrera in Valencia, whose Department of Political Science, Ethics and Sociology he directs. Secretary of the CEU Angel Ayala Institute of Humanities in Valencia, he is in charge of the Research Group Church and Society in Modern Valencia (ISVaM), funded in the last decade by the Ministries of Science and Innovation and Economics and Competitiveness of the Government of Spain.

Pilar Valor Moncho

Pilar Valor Moncho holds a PhD in Modern History. Initially she focused her research on the municipal oligarchy of the city of Valencia in the sixteenth century. Later she opened new lines, with the legacy of the Dominican Saint Vicente Ferrer. She has also dealt with the model of spiritual life of the blessed, working on figures such as the venerable Inés de Moncada or Magdalena de Lorca.  She is currently a member of the research group Church and Society in Modern Valencia (ISVaM).

Emilio García Sánchez

PhD in Moral Theology and Master’s degree in Bioethics from the University of Navarra (2010). Since 2008, Adjunct Professor of Bioethics in Health Sciences at Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU (Valencia). Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Ethics (Dublin City University), Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University (Washington DC) and Università Campus Biomedico di Roma. She has researched the ethical controversies of aesthetic medicine and the emergence of vulnerable cosmetics.

Gonzalo Damián Moya Alcocer

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Master’s degree in Law and Doctorate cum laude (with Honors) at UMU where he studied a Master’s degree in Theology in collaboration with the Theological Institute of Murcia. He is a practicing lawyer and a member of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of the Diocese of Orihuela-Alicante. He also holds a degree in Political Science and Administration and a Master's degree in Teacher Training from UNED and is a Rotal Lawyer of the Tribunal of the Rota of the Apostolic Nunciature in Spain. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Academic Excellence.

Santiago Celestino Pérez Jiménez

Dr. in Journalism from Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia and a graduate in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad San Pablo-CEU in Madrid. Since 2004, he has been teaching at UCH-CEU and since 2009 he has been teaching in the Master's degree in Cultural Journalism at USP-CEU. In 2016, he completed the Master's degree in "Humanities: Contemporary Art, Literature and Culture", with mention in Literature and Art, at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).

Graduada en Farmacia especializada en Historia de la Ciencia al obtener el Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (UVEG). Máster en Historia de la Ciencia y Comunicación Científica (UVEG-CSIC) al que siguió una beca JAE-Predoc que le permitió desarrollar su tesis calificada cum laude. Ha estudiado la toxicología española de mediados del XIX y las relaciones ciencia-medicina-ley. Ha realizado estancias en la Oxford Brookes University (UK). Ha trabajado como farmacéutica compaginando labor docente en el Departamento de Historia de la Ciencia y Documentación de la UV y en Historia de la Ciencia de la UCH-CEU.

Dr. in Humanities and Social Sciences, awarded by the Pontifical Academies of Theology and St. Thomas Aquinas for his thesis on the secularization of Christian hope and modern messianism. He is an associate professor in Social Philosophy and teaches History of Political Thought and Social Doctrine of the Church at UAO CEU. His research focuses on social, political, and moral philosophy, with special attention to the influence of gnosis in the various fields of social sciences.

Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the Central University of Barcelona, Master’s degree in "Global mental health: trauma and recovery". Doctoral thesis at UAO-CEU: "Increase in egocentry as an index in psychopathology". She works in child and adolescent psychiatry after having completed the MIR and is doing research on transforming experiences of the personality and emotional regulation.

Antonio Macaya Pascual

Dr. in Medicine from the International University of Catalonia and Graduate in Religious Sciences from the School of Theology of Barcelona, he is a Professor in the School of Psychology at UAO-CEU. He develops his research on behavioral interventions for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancy.

Professor of General Psychology at Universitat Abat Oliba CEU (UAO CEU) and Dean of the School of Psychology. He teaches strategic management, innovation, and knowledge management. Jorge Martínez Lucena

Full Professor of Mass Media. He is a graduate in Philosophy and holds a PhD in Communication, he develops his research on social imaginaries about the human being in contemporary micro-myths (cinema, TV series, literature, etc.). The last research project of the Ministry in which he has participated is "Visibilizing pain: visual narratives of the disease and transmedia storytelling".

Sergio Rodríguez López-Ros

Dr. in Philosophy from URL, BA in Social Communication from UAB and MA in Advanced Studies in Non-European Philosophy from URL, with postdoctoral training at LSE and MIT. Since 2019 he is Vice-Rector of UAO CEU Barcelona and member of its Research Ethics Committee. His research area is the History of Ideas, currently focusing on the impact of Artificial Intelligence in the fields of epistemology, ethics and geoeconomics.
